Professional Controls Engineer – Bend

Cascade Integration & Development Inc. is an Oregon systems integration firm that has a growing presence in Oregon and California. We are seeking candidates to help meet our workload in the years ahead. Qualified candidates will be capable of undertaking and managing projects that include design, development, and implementation of distributed PLC and HMI systems for various industries including Pharmaceutical, Water/Wastewater, and Manufacturing. Job Responsibilities:

  • Project management under Master Format construction projects.
  • Program development support that includes PLC programming, distributed HMI programming, SQL programming, and other platforms.
  • Implementation/Startup of systems.
  • Technical support of systems when needed.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • PE Licensure in the State of California
  • Electrical Engineering Degree -BS/MS, or equivalent technical training.
  • Ability to manage projects with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to adhere and contribute to in house standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with coworkers and customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ten or more years of experience with the following:
  • Electro-mechanical equipment in industrial process and manufacturing environments.
  • Programming of Allen-Bradley PLC’s, including the SLC and Controllogix Platforms.
  • Development of distributed HMI packages such as Ignition, Wonderware System Platform, FactoryTalkView, or iFix.
  • System Startup.
  • In Field System Support.
  • Ability to develop detailed technical documents utilizing MS Office products.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Skills:

  • MES software programming and deployment.
  • Bedrock, Siemens, Modicon, and GE PLC programming.
  • Labview Programming
  • Database Design.
  • SQL programming (Stored Procedures and functions).
  • Report Development (MS Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, etc..)
  • DCS programming.
  • Telemetry.
Controls Technician – Bend

Cascade Integration & Development Inc. is an Oregon systems integration firm that has a growing presence in Oregon and California.  We are looking to hire a unique individual that can serve our existing customers across a variety of industries.  The position will require someone who has a diversity of skills, great customer service mentality, and the ambition to maintain the stellar reputation that CID has in our industry.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct Interfacing with customers.
  • Multi-industry technical support that includes troubleshooting of:
    • Control loop circuitry
    • Instrumentation
    • PLC’s (primarily Allen-Bradley)
    • Motor Control Circuits including VFD’s
    • Networking
  • Calibration of instrumentation and associated documentation.
  • Assist with AutoCAD development when needed.
  • Assist with panel construction when needed.
  • Assist with new system development when needed.
  • Assist with new system implementations when needed.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree -BS/MS , or equivalent vocational technical training.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with coworkers and customers.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with customers to diagnose control system issues.
  • Ability to adhere and contribute to in house standards. 
  • Ability to use MS Office products with no training.
  • Five or more years’ experience with the following:
    • Instrument Calibration with NIST or ISA standards.
    • Troubleshooting control loops utilizing electrical schematics and DMM’s. 
    • Troubleshooting and support of PLC based systems.
    • Troubleshooting and support of Motor Control Circuits including VFD’s.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • No criminal history.

Preferred Skills:

  • Electrical Design.
  • PLC Programming Experience with AB SLC and AB CLX.
  • HMI Development Experience.
  • AutoCAD (2d electrical prints)
  • HART Devices
  • Telemetry
